I suggest yo leave California before it falls into the Pacific! Chose Marysville, but in PA - it is close to Harrisburg, PA, Baltimore, MD, DC, and NYNY. Housing is sooo cheap and you have the beautiful Susquehanna River and Appalachian Mountains....
