You can do most of the install by yourself, but you will definately need at least one other person to lift into place.
Regarding the wiring, If you are not installing lights, just leave it in the plastic and zip tie it to the rack tightly making sure water would not get into the wrapping.
Also they gave me metal brackets to attach to where the lights would go. Really helped with the wind noise. I attached reflectors up there so they wouldn't look like black false teeth.

Now I barely hear any wind at all. I will probably get lights soon, but those brackets did the trick for the noise. I would make sure they include it with when they send your rack.
