It's not likely rats. If it is an intermittent sensor, it will reset every time you restart the car - the VSC / skid control system rechecks itself every time you start the vehicle, and they do not clear with a scangauge, which works only on OBD II diagnostic codes. You can try engaging 4wd / 4wd low and back a couple of times, then restart and see if the lights go off.
Other possibilities, aside from the wheel sensors for the abs, is the transfer case engagement sensor, and the 4wd module on the front axle.

It is most likely something covered under warranty, so I'd check with the dealer if the lights do not reset as above. If you are using Frontier Toyota, ask for Jimmy, the Service Shop Foreman, or Richard Newman, the Service Manager - both are nice, reasonable guys...
Thanks Larry for the insite. I got an oil change so the maint light is out. Still have the yellow lights though. I will try the 4wd thing tomorrow when I find some dirt. I want to take it to the dealer, but if they do end up charging me 92...I wont be happy...mostly because I really can't afford it at the moment.

Think its safe to go wheeling in gorman still?
