For the steering wheel controls you only use 3 wires on the SWI-JACK: power, ground, and the white wire. A 150 ohm resistor goes on the white wire and then you use I believe pins 6, 7, and 8 on the steering wheel control adapter. Pin 6 is grounded and pin 7 is hooked to the white wire before the resistor and pin 8 is hooked after. It's been a while since I did my install but I believe this is right. Programming isn't too bad, just make sure you read the instructions carefully as you have to hit the program button to skip any controls you aren't using. Good luck.
