Yeah I got out on the side. I was just messing around near where that truck flipped in the picture. Was trying standing starts at the very bottom. I was only able to creep up a few feet until digging in. I never really drove on sand before and I was humbled by how much a heavy rig loaded with gear and dogs can get bogged down in the sand. Luckily Sand Lake gives you plenty of smooth terrain to get up some good speed to power up most of the steep dunes....it's just that bowl's wall is a little too steep and bumpy to get up without some serious suspension work to take care of the set of whoops that await you just before the incline. Another nice thing about the sand is that if you get stuck going up, it's an easy reverse and roll back down to try again!
