This is a great idea!!
I have been tossing around the idea of doing the Oregon Back Country Discovery route. It's all trails or gravel, very beautiful country, and runs from the California border all the way up to the Washington border for a total of 750 miles (at 4000-6000+ feet elevation). Because the route design is already in place and has been tested (with commercial services every 100 miles), it would make things a lot easier to plan a trip.
