Oh man, I used to carry spare birfields on my 78' FJ40. I only had to spend one night on the backside of Mount Hood to figure that one out. Thank god I had a propane heater & a 5 gallon propane tank. This is an excellent topic, the original post is dead on, this is what off-roading, & being in a group is all about in my mind.
