Re: MAF/4+ Skid Plates back in stock!

Just put these skids on myself this past weekend (along with the HD control arm kit). I was happily surprised, the fit and finish were great, and the powedercoat is pretty thick. The new crossmember fit perfectly. I dont regret paying the $200 shipping from CA to MD to get these.

I only made one change - I replaced the front spacers with a stack of 5 (per side) 1/2 washers, which pulls the skids up just a little more so they sit flush with the bottom of the crossmember. I was afraid that under a hard hit, the small bearing surface of the provided spacer might actually indent into the lower crossmember.

Has anyone using these skids felt the need to add an additional brace between the front skid and the crossmember that lines up with the front of the lower control arms? This would be the only other mod I am considering, but not sure it is absolutely necessary. If it reduces any front skid deformation it will make removing and re-installation easier in the future.

thanks,
Shawn
