Shortly after Fingas74 & I finished up the scuba mod.. he said "Hey you ever replace your cabin filter?"

Me with the puzzled face "Umm no, and I dont have a clue where it is at..."
He kinda rolls his eyes... and shoves me out of the way to open the passenger side door.

This is what I saw:

So.. we shoved it back in since we didnt have any parts or supplies.. and the wheels starting turning for me.

So later that night (say 1am or so) I began to think.. Damn that thing was dirty!!

And the search began --- Let me first point out there is PLENTY of reading on this subject:

http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...er-change.html

http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...ir-filter.html

Cabin Air Filter

Then I saw this:
A/C Filter Change

and mentioned this:
Bosch/Micron Air cabin filter replacement - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum

it pointed this:
Bosch Cabin Air Filters
Bosch Particulate Filters
(still too expensive -- I am froogle!)

the picture still haunted me..

Today I took my new found knowledge and headed to Walmart.

Returning home I promptly removed the filter and disassembled:

I thought the store bought filter would be a simple task as well:

but nope I was wrong:

unfazed -- I trudge on and cut out a chunk using the old filter as a template:

I put in in the bare air filter frame:

I looked pretty decent.

Aftermath:

Tools of the task:

And to freshen up the cabin even a bit more:

and that is my Cabin air filter on the cheap!!!

$3.88 for the 20x20x1 filter. And I can still get three more out of it.

Next time, I may simply cut off the cardboard outer trim trather than trying to remove it from the glue.. but over all the task took me 10 minutes tops!

Sorry no drinking for this task.

I like it, good job man.
