Hello there Billy, Looks like you had a good time! I been ckeckin out the thread for the Englin run in May. I have been searching for all the posts showing pictures of the property. I understand theres the A F Base, Is the property fenced and gated? Or you just drive right in and hope you don't get caught without a pass? I would like to find some more info on lodging and places to eat, I want the wife to go and be Happy. I also would like to do a exploratory ride, get a pass before I decide on the may ride. Are you stationed near there and if you are off duty on a saturday?

Only the air fields and bombing ranges are fenced off. The majority of Eglin AFB is a nature reservation (280,000 acres or so). The $10 Recreation Pass is required to be on the Res. and there are very strict rules regarding what you can do and where, all of which are provided on the map they give you when you pick up your pass. The basic jist is NO TRAILBLAZING in your 4x4, stay on the numbered roads and established trails. Believe me, that is all you need to have a BLAST on Eglin Res. All the pictures in the Jan 19 run thread are legal. And that is just scraping the surface of the Res.
Eglin Reservation May31-Jun01! This time it won't be FREEZING!
