I try to run nothing but Sunoco Ultra 94. I agree that if gas is a big concern, the FJ is not the best option. You won't have problems with running lower octane, but you won't get top performance. I like Sunoco because they are the only company where you can trust the octane rating on the pump. They mix on site. With other gas stations, you have to trust that the octane rating is accurate..... often it is not. With sunoco, you know what you are getting.
