Question Sway bar collar reinforcement

After reading a couple threads about reinforcing the cheap aluminum collars on the sway bar, and noticing the rust people were getting on their steel (or stainless?) collars, I went off on Google searching for shaft collars.

I found these 1-1/8" Aluminum Shaft Collars (Reid Supply) which seem appropriate but I'm concerned about using aluminum, so my next stop was to ask you guys because...well you guys rock and are a bottomless source of information and experience

That $6.92 each price tag almost seems to good to be true as opposed to the steel All Pro collars for $19.00.

I don't want to break off my stock pressed aluminum collars, it would probably void my warranty if I did, but to reinforce them it seems to me (a total newbie) that it would be "enough". I might be dead wrong.

Think they'll be strong enough? Would stainless be a better option?
Again, I'm looking at reinforcing the stock collars - not replacing them.
