The kick out design at first glance seems like a great idea to kick you around a rock, but what happens when it ends right at the wheel it puts that rock right into your wheel, wouldn't it be better to drive over that rock instead of around it? Or what if it's a tree or something taller when that kicks out ends it leaves you with a pretty big gap of sheet metal as a target. IMO it is usually better to miss the obstacle then to hit it with your slider or drive over it.
They are simply two different ways of doing something. Pick which ones you like better and I will see you on the trails.

Thank you, for a more understandable explanation between the usage of each product. My rig is lifted and I like to hear some logical explanation of the real differences between protection and usage!!!  Looks like the Demello's will work for Meeeeee!! Now who in Florida has them in stock?
