There are thousands upon thousands of people using this site without issue, but we have a very small handful of people who are having problems that believe it is the site.

I realize it may have been working faster before, but that does not mean the problem IS NOT ON YOUR END. It could be the change simply brought out a bug on your system that is causing the issue. Plain and simple.

I've already offered a few pieces of advice to people in this thread to try and some have done so and worked it out, and others refuse to change their side because they "shouldn't have to" -- while I understand that, also keep in mind that we run this site NOT JUST FOR YOU, but for HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE so making a change on this end is not trivial either, especially when it is working for the majority of the people.

I think its time to open your mind just a bit and give a few of my suggestions a try. Also keep in mind, its not just ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE that I mentioned, but any ANTI-POPUP, ANTI-ADVERTISING software that can cause your slow downs as well.
