Ok, so I have an answer. It's about idling and throttling, so it's almost car related.
How did I ever figure anything out before the internet???
"first off is it a gas or electric unit electric is good for a lot of things but even in low it's blowing way to hard for gravel I use a gas leaf blower and am a landscaper my trick is use the blower in idle to very low throttle that way it's blowing just hard enough to pick up the lighter material and you can also get a blower which converts into a vac and you can suck up the leaves and mulch them without picking up everything else"
