I live in CT. I'm surprised we haven't got hit with an FJ tax yet. This state taxes the living crap out of you and then comes back for more. As far as FJ prices, they are high around here anyway and the dealers don't like to deal. Toyota rarely has incentives for buyers here. Usually lease deals if you plan on only driving 12K miles a year. When I bought mine in August 06 I printed out the biuld from the Toyota site and brought it with me. That, 12K in cash, and I had just bought a Taco from them the year before so they cut me some slack.
