BTW, almost the only way you can get a CCW in SF is to be retired SFSD or SFPD. It's a "NO ISSUE" jurisdiction and I'm not even sure other retired LEOs can get one in SF (they probably can), but you'll have to have some very good connections to get one if you're a civilian (in fact, the only civilian employee in SFSD that I know has one got it elsewhere).
