Re: About Tires...

If your FJ comes with the BF Goodrich tires, make SURE that you get wheel locks. I had those on my Landrover Defender and the Spare tire hanging on the rear door was stolen. So was my neighbors' up the street and several others I saw on the street with the spare missing. When I went to replace the tire, it was all but impossible to buy one. Now this is back 6 years ago.
Wheel locks don't mean anything much. A lock can be easily taken off by hammering a slightly smaller-size socket onto it and wrench it off. You can also use one of those damaged-fastener removers. I've heard a story about a guy who put 5 different locks in one wheel (5-lug car, I guess he bought 5 different sets), one morning he found his car sitting on concrete blocks.

Mine won't have any spare tire anyway, just like all my other vehicles. Spare tire and its mount bracket are two of the first things to be removed when I got a new vehicle. In FJC case, it will make the rear door hinges to live a longer time and less overall weight
