You have a wannabe hummer accessory on your FJ. This maybe the reason for the frowns.

Other than that object, i think it looks good. In general, you won't find too many FJ owners that like chrome. Go to any hummer website and you will find TONS of people that love chrome. Trust me, i just joined one in hopes of finding some guys to come out wheeling with us. No such luck.

If the FJ is how you want it, then don't let the frowns bother you. I don't care if others think my FJ is a wannabe/mini hummer, or can't keep up with a jeep (it can keep up with even comparably modded jeeps, it's all i wheel with). It fits my needs and i like how it looks.
If others like how it looks, that is cool, but that is not why i bought the vehicle.
