I would buy one. Reason: I have used mine twice in less than twelve months. First time was to pull a downed tree off of the trail. Without the snatch block I don't think we would have been able to do it as easily as we did. Second time was for a trail cleanup where we were pulling trash up a steep hill along a narrow road. There would have been no way to get a straight pull on the narrow road we were on without using the snatch block.

Thanks InkMing. Direction of pull...that's a very good reason (actually you make two good points). OK. Snatch block is on the list right behind the CB and dancing hula babe for the dash.
