QTIP-A-NO-NO!!!!!
The qtip idea is not a good plan. Besides the chance to breaking the VERY delicate wire probe you can also leave behind fibers. The spray on "electrical contact cleaner' works really well. I used that method with my old taco(K&N equipped) whenever the truck started to idle rough....smoothed it right out. Crazy how my old 2.7(running 33's) got the same mileage as my new 4.0......Gutta love technology.

X2! A new MAF is over $100. The CRC spray works well to get the gunk out though.
Story,
The CRC spray comes with a little red tube you attach to the tip of the spray nozzle. I watched a Toyota technician break a MAF sensor on my buddy's Tundra by accidentally poking through one of the sensor wires with the red tube!
