Re: FJ Cruiser = Money Pit = Divorce = Addiction

I think you guys are missing the key way to handle modding. (i say guys because you ladies out there should have no problem getting your husband to spend money on your badass rig) What you gentlemen need to do is get your lady/family involved in your addiction and bring them down with you! My wife goes with me on all our trail rides/excursions. I have to admit, I could never be a passenger with the stuff we do, but she is a champ and takes lots of pictures and video as we do it. (Trail stuff guys, stay focused) The best is when we had the truck so deep that we ruined the transmission on a 6 mo old truck (unintentionally), that she was not nearly as pissed as one might think. In fact, afterwards she insisted that i add more things to the truck in order to avoid getting stuck in that scenario again. It works out perfect. I take her with, break something or find a scenario where we would benefit from a mod, and she insists i do it in order to look out for the well being of my family. As my son gets older and out of an infant car seat, he will be joining us. So i get my mods, she feels safer, and the whole family benefits from a vehicle that will eventually be able to handle the apocolypse! Family fun for all involved! Seriously though, I do plan to use this vehicle to do some nice family trips and camping stuff. I have barely seen much of this great country and dont want my kids to miss out on it. If making my truck tough enough to handle any trail/road/stream/etc. by modding it is going to make that happen, then modding cant possibly be bad.

just my .02
