Installing bracket for high clearance exhaust w/ stock tow package

I bought AP's high clearance tail pipe. It comes with a bracket to bolt to the frame for the hangers. The bolt holes are used/covered by the stock tow hitch mount.

What's the solution? Does All Pro have a different bracket for this issue?

The bracket should bolt to the frame on the passenger side about a foot in front of the end of the frame. The holes in the frame are already threaded and the bracket will be located on the inside of the passenger side frame rail almost directly opposite (slightly behind) the stock exhaust hangers which are on the outside of the frame rail. I have the stock tow package and had no issues?? I hope this helps.

Re: Installing bracket for high clearance exhaust w/ stock tow package

Well, I just checked and the tow bracket is, in fact, in the way. The hi9tch is totally covering/using the pre-threaded holes. Guess I have a different tow hitch?

I'll just figure something out. I might weld the bracket to the top of the frame. I'll mock it up first though, to make sure that would work.

Any other ideas/input? I'll get pics later.

That is probably not the Toyota OEM hitch, but a Reese hitch instead. These were added by many dealers and called a "stock hitch". You may have to rig a way to mount the hanger somewhere nearby or with the same bolts.

Correct... the OE Toyota hitch bolts to the back of the frame, not to the underside -that would be an aftermarket hitch installed by the dealer. We have not had an FJ with this style hitch to examine or test fit. If you come up with an easy solution, send us some detailed pics and I'll send you an All Pro hat & T-Shirt for your trouble!

Cool, thanks!

I'm just going to have to get that ***** welded on. Something I didn't want to do. Oh well.
