Put the new tires on.

The old rims definitely put in their time and don't owe me anything... RIP rims

Re: What did you do TO and/or WITH your ATV or SxS today?

Well... I didn't realize the rims they put on were not proper rims for the rear.

They are 4 front rims... so the rear didn't get the proper off-set.
(**Look at the pic of the other quad loaded on the trailer with the proper off-set rear rims**)

I didn't realize this.

I took the quads out for a rip and we were on some backroads to get to the trail.... we went about 20 miles with an average speed of 40mph.

At the trailhead I smelled some burning rubber.... sure as s##t the tire is rubbing against the exhaust pipe and shroud. I totally rubbed off a section of the inside of the tire... a brand new tire.

Now I need to get a different set of rims and put these tires on them... and perhaps buy a new tire to replace the one that I seriously degraded.

Dude, that totally sucks! What about using wheel spacers instead of new rims? It'd probably be cheaper.

That blows man, spacers are dirt cheap compared to new wheels as CC said.

Btw this sub forum still isn't showing up in active topics, I'll start using new posts instead so I can see this stuff more easily.

The stance is totally messed up on the 500 now.... looks terrible too. I would rather just get the proper offset and be done with it.

The front tires are actually sitting wider than the rears.

The rims I'm getting are only $50/each.... and only getting 2.

I'll poke around today and see if there's anything I can do to make this show up in active topics.... I rarely used New Posts too myself... typically only hit Active Topics.

EDIT: I've added these 2 threads to Active Topics.

Re: What did you do TO and/or WITH your ATV or SxS today?

What a world of difference having the proper offset on the rear tires
Lesson learned....

All good now... I decided to keep using the tire that had the lugs rubbed/burned off... shouldn't be a huge impact overall.
