Re: I SPOTTED YOU in Arizona

Hey I think my almost 3yr old actually spotted you on Ironwood around about the right time. I think she loves the FJ almost as much as I do. To bad it is my ummmm extra responsible (paranoid) wife's very well equipt 4x4 grocery getter. Ever since we got our FJ our little girl spots every FJ with a " FJ CRUISER" and a point from the back seat. I am slowly teaching the wife what her grocery getter can do. BTW we our out here in the QC also. Our FJ is a bone stock silver w/out rack. Oh wait it is custom.......nice dark tint on the front windows.

Re: I SPOTTED YOU in Arizona

I was in my tacoma work truck so I blended in with the masses today and I wasn't home yet so I didn't know to wave. I keep trying to talk the wife into a 3 inch lift and tires so we don't look like the rest of the FJs on the lot. Well that is my angle Im working to get her to consider the lift anyway. Maybe then you would know it was us though. Maybe Im gonna have to resort to a cheaper way to set us apart for now at least. I think I might have her talked into tagging along one weekend when someone nearby goes on a short easy trail run.

Re: I SPOTTED YOU in Arizona

The Taco is your average 07 bottom of the line 2wd reg cab short bed truck white and I have a small polished alum diamond plate toolbox. Usually on my way home about that time of day with my little FJ spotting co-pilot daughter sitting shotgun in her carseat. Maybe that will help you spot us. Well I guess Im hooked now. Might as well go with it.

Re: I SPOTTED YOU in Arizona

Let's do it. Let me know when and where. Im ready to see what these things will do. All my experimenting has been in the dirt next to the Walmart while my wife is in shopping or when I make a detour when she sends me to get gas in the FJ. I did find a decent little hill climb back here. It is across Hunt Hwy from the Copper Basin area. I tried it in the work truck when I found it and didn't get very far. So my next gas run in the FJ I had to check it out. The FJ made it look like a cake walk. Im still amazed it didn't even spin at all on the loose rock. I think I could get my wife into it a little. Maybe a little easy trail run would get her hooked.

The key to a successful buy in from the wife will be how safe she will feel. I am sure we could put a run together to include you and the Mrs as a safe event. If she see's others doing stuff with no problem then the buy in is much easier. Trust me I know. My wife was afraid at first but our first trail run was with an experienced wheeler 8ball, also a member(non club) She felt safe and now she is a seasoned pro ( till I do the hard stuff then she gets out to take pictures)
Thanks
Don

Well since it is "hers" I guess you have to buy her in to it...Dan(pumbaa) and I bought it and it was my truck to buy, took a while to decide but I found what I wanted and I got it, he now drives it, washes it, fills it up with gas and even puts the mods on. Im not quite sure how all of that happend, but either or its fun riding in the passenger seat, especially when in town with all the crazyness.
Cant wait to meet ya, the little one and the wife!!!! I think I know exactly what hill your talking about, I see time after time and Ive always wanted to try it, but.....never have! LOL

My two cents - it is scarier being the passenger - but when I drive I am much more comfy! ....not sure that 3D is.....Anyway, maybe if she sees someones wife drive, she will be even more comfy!
