ME!!!! And Carrie said she has to go before she dies...and it's the FIRST trail she asked me about when she still had her paper licence plates.....

Haha that's right! I'm game! I have everything needed for camping, including a stove. I'll have to buy a few things like extra gas containers.

Re: El Camino Diablo feeler

Count me in for this; I've been on th first section of trail (starting, rather than ending, at Ajo).

Would love to to do this run with some fellow FJ'ers.

Re: guns:Some of mine woulnd't be legal in CA (where I'd be finishing my trip), but would certainly have a couple .40 pistols with me, considering the proximity to the border.

Re: El Camino Diablo feeler

Hey guys, I've been following this thread and figured I better jump in now or miss my chance.

Some of you know what I've been doing with Latora 19 Off-Road hardware and things like that, but I'm looking at branching out and doing some other business as well.

I want to do some short-term, local (U.S.) expedition trips as well as international expeditions. El Camino Del Diablo is going to be my inaugural run and I wanted my AZFJ friends to be on my first outing (any out-of-towners too!).

I don't have all the details of the business squared away just yet, but the planning and research for the run have already begun. I've seen some dates in here for a December run, but I was hoping you could wait until January. For what I plan to provide I think it will be well worth the wait. Just to give you a few details about the planning; there's going to be food, history lessons, permit acquisition, maybe some cool promotional items, a film crew (what's the fun of doing such a great run if you can't brag about it to your friends). There will be a cost associated with this, but it's going to be minimal and it's probably what you'd spend on your own anyway. I'm just really trying to cover costs/not lose money with this first run since you're going to be my guinea pigs.

I'll be happy to give you more details as I move along in this new business venture, so what do you say? Are you with me!?

That sounds awesome. I'd be glad to wait until January for that kind of action.

I am also using this as my introduction to vehicle-dependent expedition, though nothing quite as elaborate as you're talking about with film crews, black jack, and strippers!

Keep us posted.
