Coming out to AZ January 4 through 6

I will be visiting my girlfriend up in Arizona January 4th through the 6th (Friday through Sunday!). Are there any meets during those times?? As a few of you know, I am positive I will be moving out there beginning this summer, so I was hoping maybe a little half dayer to show me the ropes!

I will be stationed in Glendale, AZ...but I am willing to drive a little ways.

January 4th, Homedad will most likely be doing the Gillette Ruins up by Table Mesa. It's a great run and even better at night. Up in Glendale, you're pretty much as close as you can get without being considered not it Phoenix anymore, so you won't have to travel too far. Check out the AZFJ threads or PM Homedad. You won't be disappointed.

If you have a 1/2 day.....
then there are plenty of places we can go around phx....
Friday night with homedad is cool but you can't see much...still worth it though..
Which day would you rather go out on? sat, sun, mon?
If you can take some of the family out and spend more than 1/2 day then we could hit sedona, prescott, tuscon and other areas....
check then trip reports section for places like:
montana mountain
sunflower mine
sedona
chivo falls
box canyon on the hassyampa (wickenburg)
table mesa east & west of I-17
lots of great places to take you just give us more info about when you want to go and for how long

I think that's a weekend that Linda has us getting away for a bit... I'm not near my calendar to check, but I'm pretty sure.

You guys should take him up the Crown King back road. That's the best moderate trail for an out-of-towner. You'll see all the different terrains. There will probably be snow up on top.

Thanks for all the responses!! I just realized it is my dads birthday on the 4th (Friday) so I am going to head up early Saturday morning (5th). I can only do a half day because this is a weekend to meet with her other side of the family...

Can't wait to meet you all. Dan, PM me your number so we can get together.

I am thinking Saturday mid day. I can't set in stone that I will be going out there yet, depends on money.
