Saturday, Dec. 29th - Sunflower Mine Trail Run!

Most of the holidays will be over, except New Years!!!

3D & I will be running Sunflower Mine with Muddygrrl (Maureen) and her husband Keith who will be visiting from beautiful San Diego.

Sunflower mine is about 15-20 miles North on the Beeline (SR 87) at the Mt. Ord exit. The run covers approx 13 miles & takes approx. 4-5 hours depending on photo-op stops & who needs a coffee fix …. & of course 10-200’s

Meet at 10:00am at the Baja gas station (Beeline/87) & Fort McDowell. The gas station is right across from Fort McDowell Casino just a mile north of Shea on the beeline.

Please have your CB on channel 16 (as usual) & if you do not have a CB at this point…that is your next ‘mod’. If you need a family band radio we have a loaner & I’m sure others can bring extras.

Post up if you are going!

List of AZ/SoCal peeps going:

3DTONKA/Katfish
Muddygrrl (Maureen & Keith)
FJCarrie
Cruzinwyo
Aslan
mrfinchy
FJsRKool - maybe

really sorry I won't make this one either...
I will be in Tucson getting my Tread Lightly Trainer cert so now I will not only be picking up trash on the trail but ready to hand out garbage bags to everyone else

Re: Saturday, Dec. 29th - Sunflower Mine Trail Run!

I might be able to make this date and I would like to meet some of you. How difficult is this trail? My FJ is plenty capable, but I am not sure that I am. I would hate to get on a run and slow things down. Let me know how tough you think it is & happy holidays! - Bill

Also if someone could take a GPS track of the trail and send it to me that would be awesome.

Sheesh, for the loudest bunch at Ouray you AZ FJ-ers are sure quiet this week. What's the matter, not hot enough for ya!?

You can do it! No worries about "slowing anyone down"! We are all there to have fun and get experience! Heck, we have a trail teams expert along with us! So, can I put you on the list??

Um....if someone has GPS, we sure will.....Santa couldn't afford to get a GPS this year, so we will see if anyone else on the run has one....

There's nothing like the feel of your face when you walk out of a 75-degree office/store and it's 120 outside. It simply takes your breath away. Because you can't freakin' inhale!

Re: Saturday, Dec. 29th - Sunflower Mine Trail Run!

I'm a maybe for this one! I promised a friend that owns a pit bull that I'd go with him to a pit bull dog show. Don't ask me how I agreed to it, but that's the story.......

If I can get out of it, I'll go!!

Cool, thanks. I am a strong "maybe". I have a commitment that day that I am trying to get out of so I will check back in prior and let you know for sure. I appreciate it!
