Re: Wheeling 1/1/2008

Payson? There are some trails up there we could do...never been, but thats half the fun! I have 3 different map sets of the Payson area.
There is the East Verde River trail (2 hrs, level 3ish) connects to the Mazatal Trail (1 hr, level 1). This would be a loop starting in Payson and ending there. Scenic beauty is supposed to be great!

Re: Wheeling 1/1/2008

Or there is something closer...4 peaks (4 hours, rated 2) and we could do the Edwards Park trail (4 hours , rating is high!) at the ridgeline of 4 peaks.
This area is usually crowded, but given the day we are going it should be empty! Snow is a potential...in patch form

Again I am game for whatever!
Kurt---> don't get life insurance, it may give her a better excuse!

Re: Wheeling 1/1/2008

I do want to do payette draw in payson...

How far north we talking? Gonna be cold for lunch...

4peaks is kind of easy but never done the Edwards park trail.

As long as we start early enough I don't mind driving an hour or two but really don't wanna drive further than that unless we're camping.

What do you feel like doin Kurt? If your gonna get killed for goin mine as well have a say in where we do go haha. Would love to have you out if you can make it man but no worries if ya can't. Catch ya next time.

Re: Wheeling 1/1/2008

I would do Table Mesa too! ...of course I'll be there on friday...with sleeping bag and a steak!
And I'll attend the funeral on the 2nd!

FYI I think the Bartlett trail is out, because I remember seeing a gate closed right on the beeline side! Damn gubernment closures! (How bad would that $uck to make it all the way there to see a closed gate!)

WES---> you make the call! The options are endless! We got maps and gear to get out of whatever we get into, where ever you decide to go! heck all we need is a rough idea....meet time/location/area of trail.

Re: Wheeling 1/1/2008

Yes we're planning on tuesday.

Table Mesa is always an option in my book...

We can meet up as early in the am (i'm talking like 7am on) as everyone wants. and wheel to we get tired or run out of food or coffee....

Sounds like fun....I think normally we would be down for this but right now I'm thinking we will need a couple of days to recoup from our adventures before heading back to work Wednesday. I'll let you know if anything changes.
