Wes has generously volunteered to let me refine my CV axle changing technique on his broken FJ Cruiser. He will be coming over to my house on Saturday. As a reward for his volunteerism, I will be barbecuing.
Since I have problems if I try to make small batches, I'll be doing a normal sized batch of barbecue.
I realize that it's relatively short notice, but I could use some other volunteers to help with the activities.
In particular, I could use some people to stand around and give unsolicited advice on the CV axle project, and others to experiment with different locations in the yard for lawn chairs and/or drink tables. There should also be someone willing to supervise and meter out beer.
I apologize, in advance, that I don't have anything else besides barbecue to offer as a trade for these services.
Post up if you're willing to participate.
I'm copying this post to the brown room too... since we're too schizophrenic to have one venue of communication.
What time do the festivities begin? I'll have to check with Dan, he has "daddy bootcamp" from 9-noon in Chandler....
Oh, um....also, I'm as big as a house, can you still accomodate me??
No problem on accomodating you, but if you have a barbecue induced sudden onset of labor and drop a kid in my backyard, you have to credit my cooking somewhere.
As far as timing... thats really up in the air. I start cooking rediculously early, especially considering I'm probably going to do pulled pork which starts the night before. I'll be whamming away in the garage by whatever time in the morning my bladder says "get the F out of bed" ... which is typically well before 0700.
I'll be working with Wes whenever he wants to show up... which is whenever...
Further activities will begin as people show up.
I figure if people wander in starting around noon or thereafter, there won't be too much torture waiting for a few more hours on the meat. The food will probably be timed to come off at around 4 or 5 pm.
