I haven't found any stations with 93 yet, everything I've seen is 91 in all my travels around AZ.
I paid 4.23 at the new circle k at the corner of pinnacle peak and 99thave, freakin' ridiculous! I put it on the company card though, they're the ones that wanted me to drive to FLG so they can pay for the gas!
Only if I had a dollar for everyone of these threads that are started...
Seriously...I would run whatever does not cause a spark-knock (ping), if you experience pinging, then upgrade. Personally, I only run 93 (Shell V-Power), as it consistently gets a couple MPG's better mileage (for my commute) and the FJ runs really well on it!
Here's a few things for you to consider. 1. The Cruisers were set up by the factory to run their best on Premium Fuel. 2. If you want the best premium fuel in AZ then only buy it at a Loves station -- why --- because the fuel comes from Texas and not from Calif. This means it doesn't have all those anti pollutant by products and oxygenation like the Ca. stuff. 3. Buy you fuel latter in the evening when the under ground tanks have cooled down -- you'll get more fuel. 4. Pump your tank full slowly instead of pumping it wide open --- again you'll get more fuel. 5. Use a Discover Open Road Credit card for all gas purchases so you get 5% back each month --- this brings the price of Premium down between Regular and Plus. I know this works because we used to get17 mpg average and now we're getting 20 mpg all the time. 6. Also keep your foot out of the headlight trying get more hp out of it. In other words keep the rpm's down to 2,000 or less (70 mph or less on highways) and you'll see a great difference. We've been getting 20 all the time here and on our trips to Utah (once a month) We've got 40,000 on the Cruiser now and we know this works. If you can't keep your foot out of the headlight then forget all the above!
Buy the way here's something worth looking at! Not a money maker by any means, but we got talked into doing it for others FJ Cruiser Parts & Desert Survival
