Cruising around Flagstaff

Hey guys,

My girlfriend has recently moved to Flagstaff and aside from being a great town I was wondering if there any good trails in the area? Just broke in my newly acquired FJ up in Colorado (Ouray/Silverton) and would love to explore Arizona.

Re: Cruising around Flagstaff

I'm the master of flagstaff there aint crap JK!! CInders is unbelievable make sure you air down those things will eat you up.... get a forest service map and hit up some trails is your best bet. THere are trails from the lake mary road ot long lake that are awesome lots of mud in season and kinda scary when mud is around. SOldier ANnex lake has some nice rocks to crawl over nothing too severe...I've done most of the trails there more scenic than anything.....
Cinder Hills OHV area Northern AZ - FJC Central.com - Forums, Friends, FJ's and Fun!

This is called winter park very small but look at that view!

Moon over Flag - FJC Central.com - Forums, Friends, FJ's and Fun!

Here is the map of the area northern half..the road around the San Francisco peaks is easy but beautiful....

SOuthern half

82 b or 82 from lake kinnikinic or however you spell that to long lakes is fun

Then 1/2 hour from FLag you have Sedona which has many cool trails
Broken arrow ect....awesome area!

Pretty much everytime I go there since my fiancee's mother lives...we pick a trail and go good luck PM me if you need any other info...

Cool bar to check our is the c0cktail lounge at the Monte VIsta hotel...lots of my buddies work there and they have killer I mean killer BLoody marys! and great venue with lots of great bands! Enjoy!

Re: Cruising around Flagstaff

How dare you link to that devil site, boy!

I passed the sign for The Cinders on my way north through Flagg at the start of my megatrip this summer... wish I had planned a stop. We need to hit that one day!

Re: Cruising around Flagstaff

Flagg was pretty neat... stayed there overnight when I did some backpack-based travels (not to be confused with actual backpacking ) at this crazy hostel place. Shared a bunk with some really weird Japanese guys, it was interesting!

Re: Cruising around Flagstaff

Thanks for all the suggestions! Trailbus1, saw some of your pics from the summit. That area is awesome. Check out some of mine on the SW forum (titled hob-knobbing with the uberwagons). We just came back last week. Starting to get cold up there. Looking forward to checking out the Flag area. Maybe we can hook up for a run next time I come to Flagstaff.
