After summer hibernation...

Posted 09-04-2008 at 02:04 PM by pokerDawg
It's finally off-roading season again in my mind at least. I have trail runs and mods lined up and totally looking forward to getting dirty again.

Later this month, I'll be on my way to Death Valley for a third time this year. I'll be traveling with familiar faces and will meet new people as well. It's considered the 'last' DV trip although there is more to explore in DV. I think I'll save it for the future when my son is old enough to enjoy such a trip.

In October, my wife agreed to go to Borregofest and actually camp. We will actually be in a tent I thought it would be a good primer for my wife and son. My son has never gone camping so he will be excited for sure. I hope the weather is fair or else my wife will not go camping with me again.

Two weeks after Borregofest is SURF N TURF!!! We've fallen in love with Pismo Beach and Oceano Dunes. We've been back there twice since the last year's SnT. The area is really nice and the food is great. I'm trying to rally more family to go. I'll have to partition off a big area for us. We will be in a motel though after the bonfire goes out. It's a compromise but I'm sure we will be on the beach very late with everyone else.

I almost dropped a lot of money on mods but stopped myself because we needed things for the house. For now, I'm getting High Angle HD rear lower control arms for Man-E-Fre. I kept telling myself not to get the high-angle versions but eventually treated myself to it since I'm skipping on full skids for now. I also have rear LCA skids from TLC. I can't believe I'm spending this much on LCAs upgrades. I know it will make a difference out in the trail but could Toyota just make stronger control arms?!?!?!

I was suppose to go to Azusa Canyon last Saturday but I got HFM or Coxsackievirus A16. I can say it's finally over but still hurts in some areas. Don't laugh. I know it's kids' illness but my son brings home the oddest things. You have no idea what I'm talking about....huh.

I've added lots of videos from Death Valley. Check it out

I'll be posting vids and pics as usual.

Have a good one
