The desert roads we roar over in our FJ’s provide a view of magnificent desolation, but ever grain of sand in the vista before us is different, unique and holds a tiny place that makes the whole what it is. Without each piece, the view would be subtly different. Some things are too large to be seen. Others are too small to be appreciated, but they are still there and combine to make what we see and experience special.

Sometimes it’s fun to drive slowly. Other times it’s fun to drive fast. Each speed provides a different experience, each a thrill in its own way. It’s important to change the speed to appreciate the difference. When we roar through life, sometimes we can miss some of what we hoped to experience.

Occasionally things are just off the trail and if we are driving too fast and are focused on arriving at a destination some time in the future we can bypass them in our journey. Life offers us two great gifts: Time and the ability to choose how to use it. If you are so fortunate as to have a plethora of diamonds, then by all means, pick the one that is flawless.

Sometimes we find things in a special condition that is ever changing.

The next time we visit the view will not be the same. You and I live in a wilderness of mirrors.

It’s important that we strive to enjoy the journey.

I totally enjoyed your blog! As another Cal dude living out of state, all I can say is I wish I was there, on those drives, in my own FJ! I have the metallic silver too! Awesome.
Thanks for the great photos.
