Re: Window Screening for Camping?

Yo,

The Skeeter Beater - Magnetic Screen for your car, truck or SUV.

Just picked up some of the Yukon ones for my 4Runner. They had the closest dimension and they overlap the window frame by only a few inches.

I called the guy there about custom making one for my rear window and he was game if I decided to do it but I would have to measure it out as he didnt have a template for it.

Inexpensive and shipped fast.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Window Screening for Camping?

I ended up just cutting some inexpensive screening down to size and some refrigerator magnets. Both door windows and the rear window screens all roll up with the magnets in the center and fit nicely in a my camping chest. I usually do the tent thing, but once the weather got so crazy I hussled back to into the truck and just used the rear window for ventilation, which works well since it has an awning when open.

Re: Window Screening for Camping?

This is a good idea. I was wondering why I was keeping all that extra screen in my garage for!

Re: Window Screening for Camping?

Last time I camped and slept inside with my wife. For ventilations, I taped a screen around the rear hatch work great no mosquitos no condensation but it will be nice to have more permanent solution.

Thanks Mike. This is what I have been looking for. I see they have ones for the FJ.
BTW, I went ahead and ordered one (set) last night. I'm excited about these screens because I've been looking for something like this for a number of years. I had planned to make my own this year but finding this thread and link has saved me time and I'm sure they look a lot nicer than what I could design and make. Thanks again Mike....

Is the $22.95 for one or two?
OOPS nevermind. Pays to read the whole ad.

It is for a pair. The total cost with shipping was about $36.
