Re: Guns.

I used to live in Utah before moving back to Canada to care for my elderly parents. I sincerely wish Canada would adopt the same gun policies and Right To Self Defense laws that seem to work so well in Utah

When you examine the official stats, there is something seriously wrong with Manitoba, Winnipeg in particular. Probably a lot of that has to do with Socialist NDP provincial governments refusing to do anything about crime, and federally with the former Liberal government passing the Youth Criminal Justice Act

City politicians are pissing and moaning about all the "negative" headlines. Well, exactly WTF do they expect?? Fire the bunch of them

Car theft here is completely out of control, as the punks who steal the cars have little to fear in the way of punishment. They even purposely try to ram police cars, and run over police officers. I think the few times cops have opened fire, they purposely missed.

If a cop here were to shoot a youth behind the wheel of a stolen car, that cop would probably be charged with murder and spend many decades in jail

Once my responsibility to my parents has ended, I'm absolutely moving back to Utah. Enjoy these headlines

winnipegsun.com - Tom Brodbeck - What will it take?

winnipegsun.com - Crime Capital - Three times a victim

winnipegsun.com - Crime Capital - Time to throw away the key?

The last one has comments that have a lot of folks here pissed off. Except for the f****** lawyers, they're tyring to "explain" it

Re: Guns.

I'm going to be in Winnipeg in a few weeks. This isn't making me feel real good about the trip.

Oh well, My FJ will be here in AZ, so it won't be a target for the Winnipeg car thieves - I guess that's a positive....

Yeah, that ***** that claimed the cab driver "deserved to die" violated her bail conditions. No surprise there. I would *love* to see Canada adopt the same laws as Singapore

Can you picture this in your head: round up those little s***s, drop their pants, and flail their asses until strips of bloody flesh hang. I bet they never steal a car - or even *ride* in one - ever again

What gets me pissed off are all the do-gooders who feel sorry for these punks. I say beat them with a 2x4 until you pound some sense into them, then do the same to the "parents" who popped out that evil spawn

Are you the fellow who has relatives with that cabin at Victoria Beach? We're off to a pretty cold May, even had heavy SNOW last week. Low this morning was +20 F at my hobby farm, which is near Lac du Bonnet.

Lets hope by the time you make it up for the Victoria Day long weekend, things will have warmed up a wee bit. At this point, I'm not even thinking of pulling the cover off my A/C

Yes, that'd be me. We were planning to spend a few days there, but since it's next week, looks doubtful....

Re: Guns.

Personally as a Police Officer I would go with the .40 cal. It has the strength, and stopping power, but not a large recoil. This will make it easier if you are a novice shooter. A .22 for grouse, I hope your a really good shot. Make sure that your local laws allow you to carry. I prefer a H&K USP, but they can be quite pricey. I would stay away from Berreta, and Taraus but then again its only my opinion.
