Nice! Glad to hear she is shooing well for you. I guess I've been pretty lucky... I've only had Two instances of failure to feed in over 2500 rounds. LOL... Those two failures were with the blazer rounds. Those are junky bullets.
For you bear people. Read the journals of Lewis and Clark. They killed a grizzly that was chasing one of the members of the expedition. I haven't read it in a while, but I remember they shot it eight or ten times with .50 cal lead musket balls. The bears lungs and heart were gone when they gutted it. It only stopped charging when one of the balls smashed thought it's brain. Head shots are the way to go. That means you need to shoot very accurately under intense pressure. Good luck! Bear mace is my first line of defense. My gun would be a last, desperate measure.

I've told this story before, but my Dad and a friend were Elk hunting in Montana back in the day and a Grizzly charged them. They backed off the kill several hundred yards and the bear continued to charge them. They finally ended up having to shoot it. I think they put like 6 shots of 30-06 in the chest and head of the bear before dropping it.....at their feet.
It takes a lot to take one down....even with a large caliber rifle and even with good shot placement. That bear's heart and lungs were riddled with bullets. The only thing that stopped it was the head shot at very close distance.
Bear mace is your best bet. A gun is definitely a last resort.

That's a Mossberg Tactical Persuader (500 series). 12ga., 18.5" barrel, holds 5 + 1, and is a mean bastard. It's got an adjustable shoulder stock, which is nice depending on what you need it for. Nice to be able to drop down to your hip too.
And you can't beat it for the price at $300-$350. Extremely accurate, even with slugs at 75 yards (at least).
But better be 000 or a slug going into that bear, otherwise you're just gonna piss it off!

Only Shepherds can protect the Sheople from the Wolves. We need more Shepherds. Which one are you?

Thanks for the info.....I really like that. Any chance there are longer shell tubes available? Maybe something just as long as the bbl?
Thanks again,
Sean

You might be able to get mine in 20". I know the 18.5" will eat 2.75" and 3" shells. Does that answer your question?

Not really....I was trying to find out if they had tube extensions to add to the shotshell capacity.
I was wondering if anyone made a tube extension for the 18.5" bbl that brought it out to even with the end of the bbl like in this pic: Pic didn't work. It's the one of the soldier holding a shotgun pointed from what looks to be a vehicle opening on the same page as your link.
Obviously, the above shotgun has no tube extension....it's just made with the tube equal to the bbl....but I have a distinct suspicion that the example above is actually a shorter than 18.5" bbl (probably 16" or so) and is specifically for Mil/LE use unless you get a SBR type tax stamp....something I don't want to go through for a shotgun.

Shoot'em in the eyes bear can't see bear can't fight:P
Yes they can. Bears have pretty poor eyesight to begin with... blow it's nose off and you're in better shape. They have one of the best senses of smell in the entire animal kingdom.
