I have had mine on since January of 2007 I think. Absolutely no trouble/problems other than the constant fear of tail gaters. I have noticed it does put quite a bit more weight on the rear door and mine seems to show it when opening it and closing it. But no real problems. I like the look and it is much better than strapping one to the top.
Waiting for the All Pro swing out they are working on. When it is in mine will be come the property of another SoCal FJer.
Agreed, old school looks good. Totally illegal in Cali but so what.
I think if Expedition One makes that tank in a 6 gallon version and extend it a foot longer, we can add wheels to it and use it as a plastic creeper or a cot, maybe ski patrols can use it as a plastic stretcher, toboggan combo.

I am starting research on roof racks. I am looking for easy to install and one that goes further toward the nose than the stock rack. What is yours?
Thank you

I took my makita 4" cut off wheel and sliced that adaptor right off the bracket that holds the wheel up so you can bolt it on. took about 20 seconds to cut it off. I then took a file to knock off the ruff stuff. That took about a minute. And it was level and perfect. I think this whole mod took less than 10 minutes to do.
