cool concept but at the end of the day it's still a tent stored in a trailer....thanks for sharing though
My thoughts exactly... The thing doesn't even have a built in floor and looks like a heavy pita to set up and take down. I'd much rather have a pop-up or a tear-drop camper if I were going to pull a trailer....

Thanks Jim.

Now I wonder if you can use these like a "Chaser" type trailer, and mount a Maggiolina tent like mine to the roof, or if the trailer is to short to do so.
Trailers

I know some have bought the Tent Trax units without the tent, and use them to haul camping gear in.
Great ?....not sure of the top dimensions or that of your RTT but it would be an easy win if you choose to do that and would probably save ya some cash!
Lord knows we ALL need a little cash.....speaking of saving cash it's nice to see gas prices dropping too!

Last time I fueled up the FJ was Sept. the 3rd.
I have not payed attention to the prices as of late.

Yeah, I will have to look at the Tent Trax models too as an alternative to the Chaser.
The Tent Trax might be to short though.

I like the AT Chasers a lot, but once you configure in a few options, the price really skyrockets.

Then there is that other off road trailer on here too that a member made and took it to the Summit.
That is nice too, it is more like the Horizon model, which is way more $$$ than the Chaser.

Yes, even after watching the video with the two setting it up, I am going to guess it is a lot more work.

For a week long trip or more it would be worth the extra setup to some.

I did not see the price of it earlier, that is steep

I like my setup much better, and it does not take all that long to setup all of my stuff I had in my gear review thread.

My goal down the road is a Chaser trailer with my current roof top tent on top of it.
They charge $2K for adding a RTT the trailer?!?! WTF?

I can talk myself into a $1000 RTT with some effort, but knowing the ARB tent isn't even $2K, how much are they gouging you on everything else?

Re: CampRTV off road trailer

After surfing Tentrax's page some more, I remembered a roof top tent will not work stored on top.

They open up the wrong way, and the roof would not support a tent like mine.

Oh well....
I like the RTT thing myself. I'm saving for a good rack and then the tent, unless the goverment takes all my money first! Spock always used to say "live long and prosper", maybe I should consider becoming a vulcan...lately it's more like "hope ya live long enough TO prosper"!
Hopefully things will brighten up soon......

Check it out, I just saw it for the first time in Overland Journal.
Its HUGE.
Small package to tow, but the tent area is big.

Re: CampRTV off road trailer

That thing costs as much as that Australian one that someone posted lately. $36000 fully loaded.
