I just got my most recent issue of Overland Journal - amongst all the good stuff (ah, to traverse the Algerian Sahara) I spotted a review of this guy:

Not only did it seem cool and useful, it reminded me of our very own "woodsman" on the forum!

Thanks for the thought.

Although I haven't purchased one of these yet, I did use a friend's one day last spring when clearing some unwanted sapplings before planting some new red oak, white oak, and shumard oak sapplings. It worked nicely and is on my "to buy" list.

I agree. After seeing the article, it reminded me of an old tool of my youth. I looked around locally for one and it appears that the best resource is the internet. Cheapest I've found the one with the hand guard was right around $90...
