Re: Canadian 3 inch lift Vancouver area

I'm buying a hydraulic coil compressor to install an OME. If you would rather spend the extra cash and do it right I'd love to help. Doing mine here in a month or so. Goes for anyone in GVRD.

What kind of lift will you do Joel? I am thinking of the shocks when I add skid plates, armour, front and rear bumpers but am not sure if I will lift.

Re: Canadian 3 inch lift Vancouver area

OME shocks and coils. The right way to do it. They've been in the Landcruiser business forever and test and retest their engineering. The ARB bumper is airbag approved, and the shocks and coils are designed for the properly designed bumper.

edit: If you add an ARB bumper, you need something to recover the coil sag, such as bigger/stiffer coils. Trust me on this one. You do plan on wheeling form time to time?

I'd be looking to do a 2" lift at some point. I think 3" would put my wife over the edge. also, I don't think I'd ever do a spacer lift. it just seems unsafe. I'd rather pony up and spend real money on a real lift.

Re: Canadian 3 inch lift Vancouver area

I put the trailmaster lift in a couple weeks ago. I've noticed a little bit rougher ride, but so far it's been great. I went with 285 70R 17's.

This is about as serious as the abuse this FJ will get!

FJVancouver...

Like I said, I have no experience with coils, but I'm mechanically inclined and willing to learn. I think we could figure it out. I haven't bought that compressor yet but perhaps after christmas. When you planning to install? Be nicer to do it when it's warmer, I think. I'm game anyways.
