Genuine Toyota Locking Gas Cap???? ........... Say it Ain't So!

So I'm at the Dealer ............................ getting my Bright F***in' Yellow FJ its 1k Oil Change plus a once-over by the techs.

I wander over to the Parts Dept. and ask the friendly Customer Service Representative about a Locking Gas Cap for my new ride.

"Sorry, no can do" he says. Then for some reason he decides to ask some guy hiding behind a computer in the back of the room.

He returns to tell me that they've just become available at their Distribution Center, and he's already ordered one for me.

$23 and change.

They'll call me when it's in.

I noticed they were an available accessory on the Toyota.ca site so it must be true. Have to pick one up the next time I'm in for service.

That's cool and all but if you're looking to pay about half that the STANT 11504 will do the trick just as well...

See this thread for more info...

Let us know if the factory one works with the tether.

I'm so absent minded I know I'm going to lose my Stant cap.
