Re: Satellite Radio

I had Sirius in my old truck and loved it. I look forward to getting it in the FJ.

HOWARD STERN
Thats why I got XM....

j/k Ive had both, and prefer XM(better programming for my tastes). But either one is good. Altho, i prefer the XM that works with my FJammer. More OEM style.

good luck, Mike

Re: Satellite Radio

we have xm in the demo FJ. Love it. I've never used Sirius but I'm sure it's just as good.

Re: Satellite Radio

Where's the poll at the top?!?!?! How am I suppoesed to make my vote count without a poll!!! lol

I have a portable Sirius and I like it better for the programing. I've had it for over a year and haven't had any "dead zones" like others are discribing, maybe it's because I liive in the middle of nowhere!!
For comparison... we just got a new GM vehicle and it came with 3 months of XM... I'm not impressed. I find the coverage the same, no dead zones, works well. What I don't like is the programming. I find there is alot of music that I don't want to listen too on the XM. I end up switching channels every 2 or 3 songs to find something I want to hear.

Sirius gets my vote!!

Re: Satellite Radio

I have xm in the home and sirius in the truck. Both make me HATE regular radio. I like Sirius for the more raw unedited content, XM seems more "disney" to me. Can't stand the censorship on XM-makes me feel opressed.

Re: Satellite Radio

Just recently got the Sirius installed in my FJ-C-pkg - VB, 6MT,hitch,hood guard a couple of wks ago - loved it!!! Got great reception in the BC mtns!!! Yeah it crashed thru the tunnels, but was quick to recover, very easy to program and units are on promotion, instead of $15 per month, IF you get 3 people on the same unit, just have to refer to your purchase no on receipt prices drop to $6/month...i love the portable sirius - goes everywhere i go!

Re: Satellite Radio

I have XM in the FJAmmer, but I added a Sirrius Portable unit on the side(Stilleto 100). I prefer Sirius to XM because I am a big Howard Stern fan. I do have a unique set up though. I installed the car kit that is basically a docking station for the Stilleto unit. I have it programmed to start recording at 6:00am (yes it records) which is an hour before I leave for work. I have it wired into constant power so when I am not using it, it can still record my programs and charge the batteries. At lunch time, I go out to the car, remove the unit from the docking station, and I have 4 hours of Howard Stern to listen to in the afternoon. It's great. I laugh at my Co-workers who think they are cool with their IPods, but they listen to the same music every day. For me, I can listen to new stuff every day. Does the XM portable record? The sirrius unit stores up to 100 hours of recorded material, and you can also download you own music just like any other mp3 player.

Re: Satellite Radio

Man-The misinformation in here is incredible...

One guy even correlated the quality of the service to the stock price--Doh XM has far less OUTSTANDING shares, therefore their stock price is HIGHER.

Re: Satellite Radio

Oh-and Sirius has repeaters just like XM...

You'll get more drops out on Sirius in cities, more with XM in rural areas.

I could explain the physics involved and the difference in the two companies technological infrastructures if anyone cares.

As for PROGRAMMING
Sirius hands down...although XM channels go much DEEPER (eclectic/unfamiliar) and many may prefer that

SOUND QUALITY on Sirius is superior as well.
