Re: Vancouver Island

late spring early summer would anyone be interested in a poser trail to Arrowsmith lake on the logging roads for maybe a lil trout fishing and a tailgate bbq ? There is a dam on the lake now and a road around the lake that is passable when it is not under water .

Last time I fished the dam spillway I had 14 trout in 20 min .

I put them in a bucket of water and promptly dumped the back into the lake on the backside of the dam .

There is lots of side trail to go on also but i havent really done the side trail .

'I got a "key to the gate" too Steaks and Coolers!!! woot

Re: Vancouver Island

I'm actually heading up that way this weekend. Not to go wheeling, but towing a Suzuki Samauri. Trading it for some loot.

Re: Vancouver Island

I'm heading over to Nanaimo tomorrow to see my brother. We plan on spending the day on some back roads exploring. Your recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Vancouver Island

I'm still here. I've been pretty busy with my new mods on my 4Runner. I'm in the process of installing fullsize axles (Dana 60 and 14 bolt) into my 4Runner.
I took a break on saturday, and did a quick wheeling trip out past Shawnigan. Went to check out a trail I wanted to take you guys on, but it was really washed out. So bad, that in a couple places I almost rolled the truck. I eventually ran out of daylight, and had to turn around. Maybe later in the summer after a bit of traffic for that trail. It's too bad, too, because there is an awsome view at the top of the mountain, and if you keep going, it goes to a really nice lake.

I'm going to be pretty busy for the next couple months with this project, and I won't be on here much. If someone wanted to go for a day trip, email is better to get in touch with me. rcrunner@hotmail.com
I don't usually plan to go wheeling, unless it's a big camping trip. I usually just go spur-of-the-moment. If I was to actually "plan" to go...Easer weekend is coming up. Would probably be quite a few vehicles out there to check out. Only problem is...there sure aren't many trails where the branches don't touch your truck. It doesn't bother me, but it does bother some. Just a warning.

Hey, any of you guys been out wheeling? I've been out quite a few times. It's usually spur-of-the-moment, though.
Many of the easier trails have been washed out over the winter. The one trail I really wanted to take you on is most likely too much for you guys. I can take you out there, and show you some of the trails, and maybe you can decide then. If not, we can just go to the lake (accessible by car for the most part) and I know of some nice rivers. I saw 3 black bears out there last weekend.
