Did anyone remember to turn off the friggin lights in Canada?

Jeez, we're up to our sliders in Canadians here. It has to be deserted up there, from Moose Jaw to Otterville, even the thriving metropolis of Lucky Lake must be feeling the impact. So is there anybody up there?

Moose Jaw
I'm about 90 minutes north of Moose Jaw...a tiny little military base called Dundurn. Yeah, there's a few of us left up here enjoying the freezing temperatures.

Hey, I trained in Dundurn!!! Lived in those long, OLD barracks - are they still around?? Wowsa. And the sand dunes out in the back 40 (er, back 10,000, or so it seemed). Gee whiz, that was back in the early '90's ... for some reason I thought they had closed that base.

I think I even have some scary-boo pics of me with a gun from back then, taken right outside one of them thar Dundurn barracks! ... here ... I'll scrounge 'em up ...

Yup - scary scary scary!

A few of the barracks were torn down in the last 2 years. There are still 3 of them remaining.

As for closing this place, it'll probably never close. We don't have too many ammunition depots in Canada, so that makes Dundurn kind of important.

I've been here for 4 years now and am posted out of here this summer to Kingston...I'm looking forward to it. Dundurn is way too small for me...I spent 6 years in the infantry in Gagetown prior to becoming a Plumbing and Heating Technician and pissing off the career manager enough to send me to Dundurn!

If you like, I'll snap a picture or two and post it here for you.
