Lack of OEM Accessories in Canada!

My dealer (and apparently all Canadian dealers) can't get the OEM bush bar, TRD shifter knobs and many other Toyota accessories that the US can get.....pi$$e$ me off!
Also, some of the accessories that we can get seem to be different/inferior to the US spec accessories. Case in point are the all-weather floor and cargo mats. The mats in the US (particularly the cargo mat) is nice and thick with a rim around the edge and a nice FJ logo. I ordered one from my dealer and what I received was a flimsy mat that doesn't even cover the whole cargo area...I wish I would've taken a pic of it to show, but I was so ticked that I didn't even accept it. When I showed the parts clerk a pic of the US spec mat, he just shrugged.

Needless to say I'll be buying one through a US dealer on ebay...

Ya, we get so shafted up here sometimes with accessories etc. I'm ordering most of my options from the US and dealing with the BS of importing it to Canada. Oh well, what can you do.

Re: Lack of OEM Accessories in Canada!

I agree. I received the mats free with my FJ but purchased a new set from the US; the Canadian cargo mat is especially useless.

Oh yeah, you can add the Garmen Quest II and insert to the list of items not available in Canada.

Aftermarket parts are just as hard to come by. I love Canada but sometimes it sucks living north of the 49th.

I got mats with mine that seem pretty thick with the FJ logos on all of them including the one for back is that the same ones you got? I have the C package so not sure if there was a difference depending on the package. I am actually pretty happy with them they tend to hold alot of mud and snow etc.

I didn't mind the front/rear mats as much as I did the cargo mat. There was a large border around the outer edge and it always moved around. The new one I ordered covers edge to edge and is much heavier.

Re: Lack of OEM Accessories in Canada!

My cargo mat moves around too. I'm thinking of throwing some velcro underneath to keep it from sliding.

Re: Lack of OEM Accessories in Canada!

There is an easy fix to the rear cargo mat. Head over to a carpet store and have a peice cut to fit, ask them to sew some trim around the edges. IMO the cargo mat is extremely overpriced and personaly I could put that money to much better use.

Did the velcro thing to my cargo mat and no more sliding around.
