Exclamation Lift kit for FJ in Canada

Hello fellow Canucks

I have seen previous posts regarging lift kits for the FJ from dealerships and other companies like Matrix in Calgary and the normal price tag is
around $900+ CAD(before installation).

I have seen companies that sell a lift kit for the FJ on e-bay for
about $300-$400 USD(before shipping).
you can view them here extremetrucktoys . com

Just wondering if anyone has tried a lift kit similar to this.

It is A LOT cheaper. But then again - the quality might be cheap too.

Let me know

For 300-400 you get a spacer lift - the $900 lift is likely the full OME lift (coilovers, shocks, springs)... there are endless debates on here about the merits of both.

These ones aren't just spacers. The spacers you are talking about are merely front levelling kits.

The ones I'm talking about have coilovers or shocks and their website states that you don't even need a spring compressor to install them - just some usual garage tools.

Check out the website:
extremetrucktoys. com

Click on toyota lift products.
The first few products are the spacer kits.
Scroll down to the lift kits below. They come with drop down diff kits for free.

I'd post the site here myself but the forum doesn't let ya post urls while still a newbie for spam reasons.

Has anyone had experience with one of these kits off e-bay?

Okay....

I can finally post urls

So here's the lift kits I was talking about:

FJ LIFT

scroll down to part # FJ3S
They sell the kit for $330 USD.

Here's another I just found on e-bay motors for even cheaper:
eBay Motors: 3" 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser Suspension Lift Kit - NEW - (item 230124751289 end time May-08-07 18:44:35 PDT)

I realize that there have been previous posts about the merits of both spacers and lift kits. But I'm speaking directly about the lift kits NOT the spacers or front end levelling kits.
Has anyone had any experience with these type of kits from e-bay.

It is a lot cheaper than spending $900 - $1600 at a shop if I can put these in from my own garage.

I just don't want to get hosed on the $330 USD if it is a POS kit.

Re: Lift kit for FJ in Canada

this may help.

depending who is installing it, if you are getting done by shop/dealer, I'd suggest get it done right (as in which lift) the first time .

oops. and welcome!

Re: Lift kit for FJ in Canada

FYI - the links you've provided are all spacer lifts - some better with rear coils and a diff drop, but all using a puck up front to provide the lift.

Thanks gj07fjc, and smack
Appreciate it.
So do you guys think it is worth it for $330 USD for one of those lifts eventhough they are a combo of coils and spacers?

dont have the answer for your question.
but here's a link to a member that has the lift you've mentioned above installed. Level Headed Leveling Kit...mission Accomplished !!

most here goes for OME, Donahoe Racing, Allpro.. some with Revtek, Rough Country, Skyjacker, and others. Check out the Suspension Tech Section, lots of info on lifts there.

I can't say if it is "worth" it but I think there should be points you should consider. Like...are you planing on a bumper/winch. Personally, I would go with OME or the like for the reasons described in earlier posts. Not that I am a rich man but for the difference in cost, I would prefer to stay away from spacers as I think they will cost you more in the long run if you intend to off road.

Just my 2 cents..
