Quad haulers.

hey guys, i know a bunch of you play with quads as well, so i'd like to know how you haul your quads? i know mark has some bigass trailer that he hauls his with, but i really don't like towing a trailer around.

Since i'm going to be buying a quad in a couple months, i am thinking about getting an older truck. stumbled across one that is virtually a replica of the one i used to have (different color and a bit more mileage then mine had). What do you think of it? its a Yota so with some regular maintenance it could last forever. post up pics of your Quad haulers guys.

here's the truck i'm looking at getting. can prolly get him dorn to 5,500 if not 5k. Canada Used Autos, Cars, Trucks, Boats, Motorcycles Online Classified Ads - AutoTrader.ca

Re: Quad haulers.

I have a double wide single axle trailer I use. Hauls real nice and I can get 2 quads and my Suzuki DR650 on it.

Re: Quad haulers.

Why don't you use your FJ to haul....seen a few out a McLean Creek doing the same (even doubles)...save your coin....

Re: Quad haulers.

oh it could haul the trailer no problem. i just really hate pulling trailers. can't back them up to save my life, and the shorter the trailer the worse it is for me. and a decent trailer can run upwards of 3grand. Also, since i sold my 92 sr-5 back in march when the t-case broke and i had no way to fix it, i've been regretting it. So i figure buy a little 92 or so sr-5 and fix it up a little. nothing major as it will be primary a vehicle to haul my quad and other things around (runs to the dump etc), and i'll have my fav truck again. polus i can get one for just about double what a good trailer would cost me and it'll be more fun

Re: Quad haulers.

You seem to have answered your own question. If you want the truck you don't need to justify by saying you don't like pulling trailers... Just do it man!!

My parents got a decent little trailer at Costco for ~$1500. My dad uses it to haul compost, garbage to the dump etc and I've used it to haul the quad once. I had to use my Moms Rover because my FJ hasn't got a hitch but backing up with a trailer is pretty easy with a little practice.

The pickup is definitely more handy for hauling stuff cause you don't have to fart around with hooking up the trailer and making sure the lights work etc. All you gotta do is break out the ramps, load the quad and strap it down. A fifteen year old truck is not going to be more economical by a long shot though.
