Calgary National 4WD

I am planning to do some work on my FJ; ARB bumper, winch and 3" OME lift, and National 4WD gave me a good quote. I am asking now if anyone has had experience with them, good or bad, before I commit my baby to their hands. They claim to have done over 100 FJs, so someone out there must have had service experience with them.
Advice please!

Re: Calgary National 4WD

I would get a quote from Modern Motors...They treated me very well this time around for my FJ and several times in the the past as well...

Radio,
It is your hard earned $$$$ - personally I would not use National 4WD in Calgary. Better dealings with Modern Motors.
I know that some of the folks in Edmonton - use N4WD with good results....

Re: Calgary National 4WD

I have a close friend who's used them for a bunch of jeep work.
He likes them but he's never tried anyone else. I've been less than impressed with how they treat him.
Jobs are quoted one price but always seem to cost more due to unexpected complications.
ie: They sold him an exhaust system that they said was "perfect" for his application....then, after the job was started, told him it wasn't fitting properly....then sold him some custom work in order to make it fit.....now he has a problem with the placement of it.

Every job they've done for him (5 or 6), they've always used the line "Oh we've done 100's of these. Don't worry. It's perfect for your jeep setup."
Then each job has required additional costs/work/time/etc above the original quote.

Could be just a string of bad luck though. The guy who had arranged most of his work is no longer there.

Re: Calgary National 4WD

Hmmm.... Intersting comment Ragweed. I did phone Modern Motors and recieved a quote from them, considerable highter than National 4WD. I called them on this, and Modern Motors said that there is NO way that National 4WD could give me price like they did.
Then, I read this, and a few other comments from you good folks, and I am thinking that Modern Motor's quote may be more inline with what it will actually be!
I don't want to slag any one business, but that sort of coin demands some kinda inquiry. After all, that is all my fun money + my baby their taking.
Thanks for the input!
