Rant about Edmonton

ok, this is screwed up. the company I'm getting my Fj's bodywork done through has an exclusive deal with discount car rental, So i got a truck from them for while my FJ is getting all patched up. I specifially requested a smaller - midsize truck. along the lines of like a tacoma ext cab or even a Colorado. What kind of truck do you think i recieved for my rental?

A fullsize Sierra quad cab. This truck drives like a brick. The brakes are crap and the truck is ungainley to say the least. when i asked why they gave me that size and configuration of truck they told me its the smallest truck they have for rental. that really sucks big time. now i get to drive this behemoth of and truck that sucks worse then a yugo! not happy at all.

...rant over.

Sorry bud but they must have figured that you didn't plan on parking it. At least it's not at Dodge MEGA cab long box dually. This has bow and stern bumpers with red and green lights indicating port side.

Re: Rant about Edmonton

Yeah, we get spoiled driving the FJ... those are HUGE trucks, and in the city they are quite ungainley.

Re: Rant about Edmonton

Haven't been in the 08 Sierra but my work truck up at Syncrude, in Fort McMurray was a 07 Chev 2500. Massive! But in the tar sand mines you need something that big. Driving around the plant on the other had was a P.I.T.A. With 12000 workers walking around from break and lunch.... 5 kms/h tops. My 07 went through 3 transfer cases in the 20000 kms I had the thing. Lots of down time.

Re: Rant about Edmonton

Being from Calgary, any thread that starts with 'Rant about Edmonton' definitely gets my attention...... but yeah, I understand the sentiment about the body shop and the car rental.

The place I had my FJ repaired here in Calgary, (took 3 weeks to repair a bumper, but that's another story) had a car rental location within the body shop. As my wife is partially disabled, they loaned me a minivan - which turned out to be a Chevy Uplander - has to be the worst minivan there is.......

I never realized how much one can miss a vehicle when you don't have access to it....

GO Flames Go!

If we could just convince the topless girls to burn some cars everything would be kick ass!
